We start F156 Swimwear Week off by analysing the Resort 2014 and SS14 Menswear collections to see the direction of swimwear for next summer. Herve Leger, Jason Wu, Dion Lee, Cushnie Et Ochs and Rachel Comey show that black swimwear will always prevail. Flattering and timeless, but for 2014 asymmetry, cut-outs and straps add a contemporary edge.
Blue tones will also be dominant in swimwear as it is for the SS14 season for both women’s wear and menswear apparel. As seen at Preen, Maria Cornejo, Dior, Emilio Pucci, Anna Sui and Tracy Reese.
Romantic patterns and bold detailing were also seen on the catwalk this season at Zimmerman, Bottega Veneta, Herve Leger, Givenchy, Michael Kors, and Ports.
Stripes are in full force once again this season for menswear. From bold and wide to subtle and narrow streamlined designs. Showcasing this trend: Dolce & Gabbana, A.P.C, Paul Joe, and Louis Vuitton.
Summer is always full of different prints and this year is no different. From floral to bold, designers have styled patterns either with block colour or doubling patterns together. Christopher Shannon, Dolce & Gabbana, Dries Van Noten, Juun J and Louis Vuitton.
Short Shorts. Seen in classics colours and bold print at Versace, Phillip Plein and Dsquared.
It’s all about vibrant colours for next summer. The more the merrier, especially with bold designs and prints. Paul Joe, Dsquared, Versace, Givenchy, Phillip Lim and Emporio Armani.
